| Single Vehicle MVA, Entrapped |
Fri. Jun 18th 2010
At approx. 07:00 on Friday morning, Company 2, Prince Edward Vol. Rescue Squad, Prince Edward Sheriff's Office Deputies, and Hampden-Sydney Police were dispatched a single vehicle MVA with reported entrapment and injury in the vicinity of Rick's Minimart on Rt. 15. Engine 2-2, Tanker 2-6 and Utility 2-8 responded with 201 as the commanding officer. PEVRS Rescue 12 requested a helicopter and LifeEvac was subsequently launched. 201 requested Company 5, Meherrin VFR, to respond for LZ operations. Upon arrival at the initial call location, no vehicle was found and an extensive search of Abilene, Chapel, and County Line Roads was conducted with the assistance of PESO. The Vehicle was eventually located on Abilene Rd. - Command and a LZ were established while the crews from Rescue 1, Rescue 12, and Engine 2-2 began patient care and extricated the patient. LifeEvac landed as the patient was being packaged and the patient was loaded for transport to a trauma center.
HSVFD would like to thank all responding agencies.
